Store Devices & Counter Access Guide
MEGSTAT POS is designed to run smoothly on the hardware you already own. You do not need to buy locked-down, expensive proprietary computers to run your store.
This guide explains how to set up your store's billing counters, tablets, and owner devices, configure multiple checkout lanes, and ensure your counter staff have a distraction-free billing experience.

Supported Store Devices
You can run MEGSTAT POS across different devices at the same time:

Setting Up Your Billing Counter (Step-by-Step)
Setting up a new billing station takes less than 5 minutes:
1. Open in Your Web Browser
Open Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on your counter PC or tablet and navigate to your store's private URL (e.g., https://pos.yourstore.com).
2. Pin to Desktop / Home Screen (App Mode)
To make MEGSTAT POS behave like a dedicated native desktop application:
- On Google Chrome (Windows / Mac):
Click the three dots⋮at the top right → Cast, Save and Share → Install MEGSTAT POS (or Create Shortcut → Open as Window). An icon will appear on your desktop. - On iPad / Android Tablet:
Tap the Share or Menu button → Add to Home Screen. MEGSTAT POS will launch in full screen with no browser address bars!
3. Log In & Select Counter Register
- Enter your store login credentials.
- When prompted, select which register this device represents (e.g., "Counter 1" or "Counter 2").
- The device is now locked to that counter register and will manage its own cash drawer float and shift reports.

- Independent Cash Drawers: Each cashier is responsible only for their own cash drawer and closing count. Cashier 1's till never mixes with Cashier 2's till.
- Back Office Independence: The store manager can enter new supplier delivery bills on the office laptop without disturbing cashiers who are actively billing customers at the front counters.
Internet Connectivity & Data Usage
Retail stores cannot afford downtime during counter rushes. MEGSTAT POS is engineered to be lightweight:
- Works on Any Internet Connection: Runs smoothly on fiber broadband, local Wi-Fi, or a mobile phone 4G/5G hotspot.
- Very Low Data Usage: Transmits only tiny pieces of text data for bills and stock updates—no heavy video or bloated assets.
- Instant Hotspot Backup: If your store's broadband goes down, simply turn on your smartphone's mobile hotspot. Connect your billing PC to the hotspot, and you can continue billing customers immediately with zero downtime.
